Penrith Beach, known affectionately by locals as Pondi, has become one of Western Sydney’s most significant seasonal destinations, attracting large pedestrian and vehicle volumes every day.
Southern Cross Pacific, an appointed provider to the Local Government Procurement (LGP) Traffic Management Services Panel, supported council operations during the establishment and activation of Penrith Beach by delivering comprehensive traffic management planning and on‑ground infrastructure works throughout January.
Works included the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of Variable Message Signs (VMS), along with temporary and permanent traffic signage installed in accordance with council approvals and Australian Standards.
This included new Penrith Beach identification and, speed advisory, including compliant tourist attraction wayfinding signage, providing clear and consistent guidance for motorists accessing the precinct.

Additional works included the installation of water‑filled traffic barriers to manage incoming and outgoing vehicle movements, the establishment of designated accessible parking bays within the car park, and the sourcing and setup of an automated traffic counting survey to support data‑driven planning and future seasonal operations.
During the setup phase, our leading Traffic Supervisor Emmanuel had a genuine on‑site interaction with The Hon. Paul Scully MP, NSW Minister for Planning and Public Spaces.

Southern Cross Pacific is proud to support councils with practical, compliant, and scalable traffic infrastructure solutions delivered under the Local Government Procurement framework.
