Australia Day, observed on 26 January, is understood and experienced in diverse ways across Australia. For some, it is a day of celebration and community gatherings. For many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, it carries significant historical weight as a date linked to the beginning of colonisation and lasting impacts on culture, land, and people.
Southern Cross Pacific acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and pays respect to Elders past, present, and emerging. We recognise the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to land, waters, and culture, and the importance of reflecting on both history and future as part of national dialogue.
As an Indigenous-owned organisation, Southern Cross Pacific is committed to respectful engagement, inclusive workplaces, and supporting environments where diverse perspectives are recognised and valued.
